![]() ![]() When installed correctly, when the motherboard is sitting straight up inside a typical tower case, the heatsink should not be able to slide down the notch that goes with the X-bracket prevents this when installed correctly. Ensure the Heatsink and X-bracket are positioned correctly. Also the X-shaped bracket that goes in the middle of the heatsink to then lock down on the motherboard mount has a notch on it. The fact that you can freely move the Hyper212 heatsink after it's tightly in-place means you used the wrong stand-offs, trust me, done it by accident once on an AMD board. As using the Intel ones on an AMD board the Cooler will not sit tightly in-place on your CPU, as the Intel based stand-offs are physically longer. But you can over-tighten the Motherboard Bracket Mount so be careful.ĮVO and X comes with 2 sets of stand-offs, a set for Intel and a set for AMD please ensure you use the correct ones. ![]() You can't over-tighten the cooler screws on a Cooler like Hyper 212 Plus/EVO/X ![]()
